Kathelijne Baetsen

K. (Kathelijne) Baetsen has been a lawyer since 2000. After completing her studies in Dutch Law and Tax Law at the University of Maastricht, she began working as a lawyer at the firm of Houthoff Buruma. From 2001 to December 2006, she worked at the firm’s department of Insurance Law. 

From January 2007 to March 2008 Kathelijne Baetsen was employed as a lawyer by the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, where she focused on matters involving medical liability and insurance law. She also represented the hospital in various civil proceedings and she taught courses and gave lectures on medical liability. In March 2008, she began to work at the law offices of Stadermann Luiten, where she became a partner on 1 January 2010.

In 2005-2006 Kathelijne Baetsen followed the Grotius programme on Entrepreneurship and Liability and graduated cum laude. She deals with various issues in the areas of liability law and insurance law.
